Our batch (1985) will be the silver jubilarian in 2010. We are still
young (mostly between 37-41 years old), but we think several of our
batchmates have achieved significant milestones in their personal and
professional lives.
We have batchmates who have produced new generations of responsible
citizens. Being good parents of young ones, we think, is one great
lifetime contribution.
To name some of the "who's who" of batch 1985:
Joy Gundran - class valedictorian, now affiliated with World Bank and
was responsible for the establishment of the Microfinance Bank in the
Philippines.
Ediwn Mapanao - national sales manager of feeds and vitamins for fighting cocks.
Myla Jabilles-Leguro - peacemaker, social worker and Philippine nominee for Nobel Peace Prize
Yam Laranas - international movie director
Paul Morales - stage actor, director and choreographer
Wendy Panganiban - international ballerina, now trainer at Disneyland - Hong Kong
Gauss Obenza - singer
Art Bonjoc, Charles Maxey, Ely Ramiro - mediamen
Marlon Borja - Boston marathon runner
Janet Rodriguez, Art Perez, Elias Tanjili, Monet Lina (senior bankers and financial officers in Mindanao area)
There are also batchmates successful abroad: Genalyn Escalante (US),
Anthony Halog (Canada), Edward Cajilog (London), Edgardo Reyes (MEast),
Thaddeus Banaglorioso (US), to name a few.
I myself is a senior officer at BDO-HO.
Most of all, I believe, our batch can honestly say that we have carried
our brand name "DCHS graduate" with pride and held name with honor.
We might have moved to different schools after college, but we will always be proud to have graduated from DCHS.
