The conference provided the secondary and high school teachers and educators of ASIA & EUROPE with a forum to initiate and to collaborate with one another on joint projects that could connect and enhance exchanges among schools involving the use of  infocommunication technology.

The aim is to eventually integrate the programmes that had been developed under the AEC FRAMEWORK into the school curriculum of these secondary and high schools.

Mrs. Manguilimotan also submitted and presented a proposal for online collaborative learning projects that teachers and students of Asia and Europe will further develop over the course of the next 6 to 9 months.  In recognition of efforts to produce outstanding online learning platforms under the AEC Framework, the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) is pleased to present AEC Awards (Gold & Merit) to project groups.

Mrs. Manguilimotan once again passed the online application to participate the 10th AEC-NET Conference over hundreds of applicants in Asia and Europe by Asia-Europe Foundation in Singapore.  Finally, TO GOD be the Glory for another rare opportunity given her all these years!

Education Secretary Armin Luistro said it is but proper that the country dedicate a whole month to recognize teachers for their unique role in preparing students for the future, in strengthening communities and in building a nation.

“I think we should regularly take time to revitalize the image of teachers and draw public attention to their value in society,” said Luistro.

We encourage DCNHS students to write a letter, send a card, offer a gift or post a greeting, feature stories or write-ups on their teachers through their school papers, websites and Facebook accounts.

“We have many creative ways and various media platforms to be used to express our gratitude to our teachers,” added Luistro.

We will showcase all your greetings during our World Teachers’ Day celebration on October 5.

Davao City NHS celebrated 2011 Intrams with a big bang!  Students, parents, teachers, and stakeholders participated the event full of fun and enjoyment. It was a well-planned activity headed by our principal, Mrs. Victorina Jacinto and the MAPEH department. The PTA officers, led by Mr. Hector Paraba staged Hudyaka sa City High, also, was filled with fun and games.  Students, parents, and teachers competed on Larong Lahi. The National Schools Maintenance Week, also known as Brigada Eskwela is a school maintenance program that engages all stakeholders to contribute their time, effort and resources in ensuring that public school facilities are set in time for the forthcoming school opening.

It is a week long event where communities, parents, alumni, civic groups, local businesses, non-government organizations, and private individuals including teachers and student volunteers devote their time and skills to do repairs and maintenance work in public schools.

The Davao City National High School is very much grateful for the overwhelming support of its education stakeholders like the GMA Network, Alumni Batch 1986, City Savings Bank, Task Force Davao, Barangay 10-A, City Mayor’s Office, Youth & Religious Ministry, teacher, parents, students and DepEd personnel of Region XI.

Applicants should send their applications by mail to the OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS, UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES, DILIMAN, QUEZON CITY. The applications should include the following requirements:
(a) correctly and completely accomplished UPCAT Forms 1 and 2;
(b) four 2″ x 2″ identical recent photographs taken within the last 6 months;
(c) non-refundable application fee of P450.00; and
(d) self-addressed stamped envelope.

UPCAT applicants with an annual gross income of P100,000.00 and/or are one of the top ten prospective graduates of public high schools as of the end of SY 2011-2012 are exempted from filing the application fee.

The UPCAT schedule is on August 6-7, 2011 (Saturday and Sunday) at the UP Mindanao campus in Mintal, Davao City. Each applicant will take the UPCAT in only one half-day session.  The 5-hour examination covers areas in Language Proficiency, Reading Comprehension, Math and Science. The morning session starts at 6:30 A.M. while the afternoon session starts at 12:30 P.M. Applicants must be in the testing center at least 30 minutes before the examination time.

For those who wish to avail of a UP education in the Mindanao region, UP Mindanao offers  BS Agribusiness Economics, BS Architecture, BA Anthropology, BA Communication Arts, BA English (Creative Writing), BS Biology, BS Food Technology, BS Applied Mathematics, BS Computer Science; and the graduate degree of Master in Management.

Procedure of Enrollment:

Incoming First Year:

1. Proceed to Filipino or Math Department for T.L.E. Specialization
2. Ask for enrollment form from the enrolling teacher and fill in all data, and submit the following:
   a.  Report Card
   b.  Birth Certificate (NSO)
   c.  4 copies of ID picture (1×1 for 1st year and 2nd year); (2 pcs. 1×1 & 1 pc. 2×2 for 3rd year); (1 pc. 1×1 for 4th year)
3. Return enrollment form with requirements attached to the enrolling teacher
4. Join the Brigada Eskwela on the date schedule (All year level)

Students residing at Barangay 5, 6, 7 & 8 must enroll at DCNHS extension, Madapo Hills, (old DCWD office – back of Brokenshire College)
